Kg Pandan Visits Info Dept

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty Five Consultative Committee Council Members of Kampong Pandan `A' in Kuala Belait, led by its chairman and village head, Awg Sulaiman Bin Hj Udin, yesterday visited the Information Department in the Old Airport, Berakas.

A welcoming speech was delivered by Awang Hj Salleh Bin Hj Yusof, MRO unit chief.

Awg Ismail Bin Mohammad, head of community relations' section, briefed the delegates on the functions and roles of the Information Department.

He spoke on its mission to preserve and make the image of the sovereign, country, and government exceptional through dissemination of information that is rapid, permanent and influential.

The department serves as a bilateral platform between government and the people in supporting the philosophy, aspirations and objectives of the nation through the print media, the Pelita Brunei, Brunei Darussalam Newsletter, and face-to-face communication through civic programmes, meetings, stage performance and others.

In ICT, the Information Department has provided web pages such as the information department websites, Brunei Darussalam Daily Diary, Pelita Brunei Online and a photography website. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
