History Translation Workshop

Begawan - Twenty-Six persons are attending a workshop to
polish history translation skills.
It is organised by the Brunei
History Centre, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports with the
cooperation of Civil Service Institute, Prime Minister's Department.
It runs from February 3 to 8 at the Civil Service Institute in Kg.
Rimba, Gadong.
The workshop aims to benefit
translators, writers, research, literature and editors and those in
the translation field.
The Head of Brunei History Centre,
Pehin Dato Dr Haji Awg Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri, said history translation
needs to be explored due to many hidden facts that need intellectual
and critical exposure and research.
The workshop hopes to enhance the
development of translation activity in the country to a professional
level and produce and publish more translated books especially in
history, he said.
It hopes the workshop will develop
skills in correct translation based on the meaning and language and
build the human resources development in the translation field. Six
