Brunei DPMM FC fight back to draw
By James Kon

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC fought back from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against the Royal Thai Police Football Team in the first of two friendly matches at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium yesterday.

Brunei DPMM FC was two goals down in the first half after Thai prolific goal scorer No13 Yingyong Thaensopa slotted in two goals.

The first goal was scored on the 14th minute following a good build up into the penalty box of Brunei DPMM FC by No 11 Surachat Sareipim whose perfect pass was met by Yingyong Thaensopa who then flicked the ball into the goalmouth of Brunei DPMM FC.

Yingyong's second goal came in the 44th minute when No 3 Kritbadu Prakobkong outran the entire Brunei DPMM FC defence to hit a great pass into the penalty box for Yingyong who gave goalkeeper Alizanda Sitom no chance at all.

Despite the setback, Brunei DPMM FC's new imports, AlejandroAndres Tobar and Atilio Asuncion Cacerez came close to get a goal but both players couldn't hit the target.

After the interval, a change of tactics by Brunei DPMM 1'C's coach Itanko substituting Alejandro and Atilio with local players put some life back into his team and they played with more urgency.

Ranko's strategy paid off on the 58th minute when Brunei DPMM FC got its first goal of the match from a penalty that was converted by No 13 Itosmin I lj Kamis, captain of Brunei DPMM FC following a foul by No 5 Prakpadodehanan Rasama on Fadlin Gelawat in the penalty box.

With the score at 2-1, the Thais stepped up a gear with some lightning attacks from the flanks but Brunei DPMM FC's Rene Kumar was a tower of strength in the centre of defence.

Against the run of play, No 30 M Arsyah M Ayob almost levelled the score for Brunei DPMM FC on 67th minute but his powerful strike was tipped over the bar by the alert Thai goalkeeper Monop Mudardum.

Two minutes from time, Brunei DPMM FC finally got the equaliser through striker Md Shahrazen from a beautiful cross by Rene Kumar.

In the dying seconds, the Thais almost got their winning goal through PongPhan Kitwatthna but he shot straight to the goalkeeper.
