Royalty At Hijrah Celebration

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Development yesterday celebrated the new Hijrah year 1428 with a sermon and doa selamat at their Dewan Betabur.

The theme for this year's Hijrah celebration is "Strengthening the Will to Lead a Religious Life".

Attending the event was Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah.

Present as the guest of honour was Minister of Development, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri SetiaAwang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar.

Also in attendance at the event were Deputy Minister of Development, Dato Paduka Dr Haji Mat Sunny bin Haji Mohd Hussein, and Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry.

The event was initiated with a recital of surah alFatihah and was followed by a welcoming speech from the chairman of the event Acting Director of Administration and Finances, JKR, Awang Abdul Hamid bin Abdullah.

Guests also saw a sermon by Universiti Brunei Darussalam's Assistant Vice Chancellor, Dr Haji Serbini bin Haji Matahir.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
