Chinese Troupe Bedazzles Brunei

Begawan - The Tianjin Cathay Future Children's Art Troupe of
the People's Republic of China, which was invited by Brunei's
Ministry of Education, bedazzled the audience with their flawless
performance at the auditorium of Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science
College in Jalan Muara yesterday.
Over 200 students from some 17
secondary schools in the capital as well as other government and
private primary schools were invited to watch the show.
Present as guest of honour was the
science college's principal, Pg Hjh Sarah Pg Hj Kamaluddin. Also
attending the event were Mr Tian Qi, Counsellor of Chinese Embassy,
and Mr Zhao Qian, the Headmaster of the Children's Foundation from
Tianjin, China.
The Tianjin Cathay Future
Children's Art Troupe was founded in May 1995, and is one of the
world's largest children's art troupes.
At present, the Children's Art
Troupe is made up of ten branches, namely the `Children's Dancing
Troupe', `Infant's Art Troupe', `Symphony Orchestra', `Children's
Traditional Instrument Troupe', `Children's Chorus Troupe',
`Children's Beijing Opera Troupe', `Children's Acrobatic Troupe',
`Children's Ballet Troupe', `Children's Performance Troupe' and
`Children's Popular Narratives Troupe'.
Four experienced and highly skilled
performers - Wang Zi Shen, Zhao Bao Shanm, Shen Guang Wen and Chen
You Zheng - are the art supervisors of the children's troupe
comprising over 500 young national artistes.
The troupe has travelled around the
world including Canada, USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Thailand,
Indonesia, Laos, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They are
often regarded as the "angels of peace and friendship".
Following last night's show, the
