Take down the eyesore

Photo shows an advertising banner in Jalan Lumut, which is an eyesore. Village residents are urging the relevant authorities to take it down. Members of the public have lauded the move by JKR and the Town and Country Planning Department in taking action against illegal advertising boards in strategic areas in the Brunei-Muara District. The villagers are hoping the same will be done in the Belait District. According to the 1972 Town and Country Planning Act, people who erect illegal signboards will face a maximum fine of B$20,000 or a year in prison.
