Ministry Briefs Students On Career Opportunities

Bandar Seri Begawan - A briefing on the `Roles of Consultants in Construction Industry' was held at the Ministry of Development. Students from Maktab Sains and Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College attended the briefing.

The purpose of the briefing was to inform students on the career opportunities in the ministry and departments under it.

The event began with a recitation of Surah al-Fatihah, led by Awang Metali bin Samat, an officer in the Administration and Finance Department, which was followed by a welcoming remark from the chairman, Awang Haji Abidin bin Haji Saaidin, Head of Guidance and Bumiputera Development Unit.

A briefing on the architecture field was delivered by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Abas from Arkitek Idris.

A talk on surveying materials was then given by Awang Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Abd Hamid from HZ associates, which was followed by a talk on engineering by Awang Tsang Lee Wah from Perunding Jurutera Tempatan.

Students also viewed an exhibition after a question and answer session. The speakers received tokens of appreciation from Awang Haji Wasil bin Haji Mohd Taib, Special Duties Officer at the Ministry.

Another briefing entitled `Professions in the Ministry of Development' will be held today and will be delivered by senior officers from departments under the Ministry of Development. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
