UKKS ‘B' futsal champions

Unit Kemudahan-Kemudahan Sukan (UKKS) 'B' emerged champions of the Inter Section & Unit Futsal Carnival of Youth and Sports Department at the Hassanal Bolkiah Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Berakas yesterday.

UKKS 'B' narrowly beat UKKS 'A' 3-2 in a thrilling final. UKKS 'B' secured their final place after they defeated UKKS 'C' 4-1 in the semifinal while UKKS 'A' overcame the resistance of JBS Tutong Branch in another semifinal winning 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 in normal time.

Both JBS Tutong Branch and UKKS 'C' shared the third place. The best manager award went to Pelayar Tingkah from JBS Cawangan Belait.

11 teams vie for honours in the tournament.

The tournament organised by Youth and Sports Department in conjunction with the soft opening of the new futsal court in the complex attracted 11 teams.

The $99,000 Sports Court Response 6.0 was used for the first time yesterday.

Present at the prize presentation ceremony was the guest-of-honour Haji Haris bin Othman, Acting Deputy Director of Youth and Sports.
