$9,000 More For Tsunami Fund

Bandar Seri Begawan - The `Tabung Bantuan InisiatifYayasan Kepada Mangsa Tsunami Di Aceh', a relief fund initiated by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation for tsunami victims in Aceh, received a boost of $9,000 yesterday morning.

The money was handed over during a ceremony held at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation complex.

On hand to receive the donations was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation

Representing 'Syarikat Perniagaan Dan Perusahaan Melayu Berhad', Menglait Petrol Station, Pg Hj Mohammad bin Pg Hj Chuchu, the Managing Director of the company, contributed $2,000 towards the fund.

Meanwhile, the Sport and Social Wet fare Co-operative Bodies (Koperasi Badan Kebajikan Sosial dan Sukan), Ministry of Health, contributed $1,000, which was handed over by its chairman, Pg Hashim bin Pg Hj Besar.

The largest contribution of the day, $6,000, was from 'Kerabat Nusantara Paguyuban Masyarakat Indonesia di Brunei Darussalam'. The money was presented to the Chairman of the Board of Director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation by Awang Ismaya Suhardi.

Also present during the ceremony were the managing director and assistant director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation.

The cash contribution will be fully utilised for the second phase of the humanitarian mission in Aceh, such as the reconstruction of mosques, schools and orphanage homes. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
