Alternate Route From Kiulap To Be Ready Soon

Bandar Seri Begawan - Motorists frustrated by traffic jams in the Kiulap commercial area can take comfort that another escape route out of the centre will be ready soon.

The roundabout towards the end of the Shakirin Complex has been ready. However, a bridge to let motorists cross over the Gadong River will not be ready for the time being.

Once the bridge is ready, motorists can find another route out of the area. The only way out of the commercial area at present is via the Kiulap link road, which will take motorists to various places:

Normally, the main route out of Kiulap is jammed with vehicles wanting to go out of the bustling commercial area.

This is especially so during peak hours as well as after government payday. Traffic jams also occurr if accidents happen at the Kiulap Link Road.

At one time, the Gadong commercial centre also experienced the same dilemma until bridges were constructed to link Gadong to Kiulap and Kiarong.

Kiulap is fast becoming like Gadong and a few more places like Jalan Muara are also experiencing economic boom. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
