Charity Bazaar For Tsunami Fund

Begawan - Fifty-three stalls selling flood, clothing
accessories and flora are taking part in the ongoing "Persatuan Belia
Kampong Lambak" (Persatuan Perbekal) Tsunami Charity Bazaar.
Launched yesterday at the Taman Jubli
Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the charity sale will go on until
February 27.
Launching it was the Dato Paduka Haji
Md Hassan, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communication.
The highlight of the launch was the
handing over of two contributions for the Tsunami Disaster Relief
Fund.
On behalf of The Mall Cineplex, Mr BK
Wong, the MD handed over an $8,236 contributions to The Permanent
secretary of Communication while Mr. David Armstrong of Integrated
Environmental Consultancy Sdn Bhd presented an undisclosed amount.
The guest of honour applauded the
members of the Persatuan Pemberkal for their continuing charity work
especially in the setting up of the charity bazaar.
He said that an association could be
a platform to unite and translate the combined energy of its members
especially youths, to participate in the building of the county.
Associations and bodies can also work
as an incubator to underneath potential and shape them in the leaders
for future. he added
The Permanent Secretary of
Communication applauded the spirit of volunteerism among the youths in
organising charity events and community works, which would help
instill the traditional Brunei character of being family oriented and
patriotic.
Also present at the ceremony were Pg
Nordin Bin Pg Hj Mahniud, the chairman of the Tsunami Charity Bazaar
and president of PERBEKAL and its members. --
