Masjid
Kg Salambigar in Jalan Muara has decided to join mosques nationwide to
perform a series of thanksgiving ceremony activities on the evening of
Feb 22 to demonstrate their gratefulness to Al-Mighty Allah for the
continuous prosperity enjoyed by the nation.
Soon after the call of prayer or azan
was made at 6.34pm, the worshippers performed maghrib prayers in
congregation.
This was followed by a mass recital
of Surah Yassin which was meant to request for a continuity of
prosperity which has been enjoyed by the population for many years.
The Doa Kesyukuran was read by Imam
Hj Abd Halim Hj Yahya. The worshippers also performed the mass isyak
prayers together.
Imam Hj Ghafur Hj Menudin also called
for the population in the vicinity to fully utilise the mosque for
both spiritual and temporal activities.
He added mosque officials such as
imams are equipped with religious knowledge that enabled them to
correctly guide Muslims in the community towards self-fulfilment.
"Mosques actually function as
institutions to impart religious knowledge as well as spread unity
amongst the ummah or Muslim community," he said.
He added the government through the
Ministry of Religious Affairs has committed to provide Muslims with
facilities such as mosques to carry out their religious obligations,
commitments and duties.
Therefore, he urged for Muslims to
fill up mosques to perform their daily prayers as required by their
religion.
Masjid
Kg Salambigar also organised a cleanliness campaign at the mosque
recently to commemorate the Islamic New Year of Hijrah.
