Workshop For Traditional Dance Instructors In Temburong

Bandar Seri Begawan – A special Dance Workshop is going on for traditional dance instructors in Temburong.

The Dance Workshop aims to teach and improve traditional dances among instructors at Primary Schools.

The workshop is also expected to help preserve traditional dances as part of Brunei's cultural history, through holding various dance competitions among schools throughout the country.

During the workshop, some 20 teachers are taught and given demonstrations on several dances, including Tarian Zapin, AdaiAdai, Indung Anak, and Dondang-Dondang.

Meanwhile, a Traditional Brunei Dance competition for Primary Schools will be held in July this year.

It is one of the efforts to maintain the national culture from negligence amidst global modernisation.

The dance workshop and competition are designed to maintain the existence of traditional dances as part of Brunei's rich diversified culture even in Brunei's current modernised standards of living. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
