Tsunami Fund Reaches Over $2.4 Million

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam Relief Fund for the Tsunami Victims has so far collected more than 2.4 million dollars.

The latest contribution of more than $22,000 came in yesterday.

The donations were handed over to Pehin Dato Doctor Haji Awang Hussein, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and Co Chairman of the Fund.

The Gurkha Reserve Unit at the Ministry of Defence donated $6,819.

Another $2,024 came from the Audit Department while the Ports Department donated $2,080.

The Women Association, Pertiwi contributed $8,000.

The Jerudong Park and Country Club donated $908.

And $2,000 came from the BT Shipping Company.

The Humanitarian Relief Fund for the Tsunami Victims still welcomes sincere contribution from the public.

Until today, the Fund has collected the entire donation of more than $2.5M, including more than $55,000 as pledged. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
