British Premier Congratulates
Brunei On National Day

Begawan - British Prime Minister Tony Blair yesterday sent a
congratulatory message to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan
of Brunei in conjunction with the country's 21st National Day
celebration.
In a message issued by the British
High Commission in Brunei, Prime Minister Blair stated, "I am
delighted to send you and the people of Brunei my congratulations
and best wishes on the occasion of your National Day which this year
marks the 21st anniversary of independence for Brunei.
"I warmly recall our meeting in
London last June, reflecting the close relationship and good feeling
which exist between the UK and Brunei.
I am confident that this strong
friendship between our two countries and peoples will continue to
flourish in the years to come".
Meanwhile, the British Secretary of
State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Jack Straw, sent a
congratulatory message to His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.
Straw said, "It gives me great
pleasure to send you my best wishes and congratulations on the
occasion of Brunei's National Day which this year marks the 21't
anniversary of independence for Brunei.
I am confident that the close
partnership between our two countries will continue to grow and go
from strength to strength. I look forward to another year of
excellent relations in 2005." --
