Travel Agents From UK Still On FAM
Trip To KK
By Sonia K & Huraizah Ahmad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Nine travel agents from the United Kingdom departed
for Kota Kinabalu last night to continue their familiarisation (FAM)
trip.
The trip started in Brunei as its
first destination followed by Kota Kinabalu.
The agents were joined by Mr Lee
Barker, a Royal Brunei Airlines' London staff.
The objectives of the FAM trip are
for the travel agents to get to know the advantages of RBA as an
airline and to promote Kota Kinabalu as a holiday and stopover
destination. The agents arrived in Brunei for a two-day visit on
Sunday.
During their stay, they visited
Jerudong Park Playground and Garden, followed by a day tour to Ulu
Temburong National Park.
Besides that, the group also went
on a city tour as well as exploring Kampong Ayer. They also attended
a product briefing by the Brunei Tourism.
Sheraton Utama Hotel in the capital
hosted the FAM trip for the travel agents.
Last year alone, a record 100
foreign print and electronic journalists along with 215 travel
agents and tour operators participated in the FAM trips to the
Sultanate.
The FAM trip has clearly played a
part in showcasing the nation as one of the great destinations in
Asia as well as portraying its recent new tag line of `The Green
Heart of Borneo, Brunei - A Kingdom of Unexpected Treasures' in
attracting prospective travellers to explore the natural, cultural
and heritage aspects of the country. --
