Kindergarten Kids Mark Chinese New
Year

Begawan - Over 800 kindergarten children of Chung Hwa Middle
School in the capital celebrated Chinese New Year yesterday.
The assistant principal of the
school began the event by greeting all students in the kindergarten
section.
During her speech, she also said
the school has always placed great emphasis on encouraging
kindergarten children to be trilingual by teaching them how to speak
Malay, English and Mandarin at an early age.
The school, she added, also
organises fun activities to develop the students' creative ability.
The chairman of Parent Teacher
Association (PTA), during his speech, said since the formation of
the association, the number of members had gone from 15 in the first
year to 250 last year.
Recalling last year's activities,
he said it had been a busy year for PTA as there were a number of
big events organised by the members for the children including a
trip to the cinema, family walkathon and visits to the fire station
and RTE.
Kindergarten children were
accompanied by their parents at yesterday's event which was tilled
with joy and excitement, especially upon the arrival of the lion
dance troupe.
Also present were PTA advisor and
member of the school's board of directors Jackson "Ping and Madam
Kho, principal of the school. --
