Yayasan Celebrates New Hijrah Year

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation Welfare Body yesterday held a religious event to mark the new Hijrah year.

Officiating the religious function was Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Abd Ghani PehinDatu Paduka Hj Abdul Rahim, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation Managing Director

A mass al-Fatihah recital led by Awg Ahmad Rithaudin Hj Sabtu marked the start of the event.

Meanwhile, the highlight of the event was a talk delivered by Dr Ustaz Hj Ismuhadi Hj Abdullah, guest speaker from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, who touched on the recent tsunami disaster.

Also present at the event were the foundation's officers and staff, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School teachers, as well as officers, staff and teachers of the Tahfiz al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute.

The day concluded with a doa recital by Kg Bolkiah Religious Teacher Ustaz Hj Ismail Hj Ahmad.

The Welfare Body was established not only to strengthen ties among its members, but also to cultivate cooperative attitudes among them, as well as encourage and increase their involvement in religious, social and welfare activities among others. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
