Sultan Attends Mass Prayer For
National Day

Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei last night joined Muslim worshippers in performing mass
Maghrib and Isyak prayers, thanksgiving prayers and the recitation
of Surah Yassin in conjunction with the country's 21st National Day
celebration.
The mass prayers were held at the
Sultan Omar All Saifuddien mosque in the capital. Also present were
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pg Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah,
HIM Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, HRH Prince Abdul Malik and HRH Prince
Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was
greeted by Pehin Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Awg Mohd Zain, the
Minister of Religious Affairs, and other executive members.
The ceremony began with the mass
Maghrib prayer led by Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Hi
Awg Yahya.
The recitation of SurahYassin was
led by Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg
Badaruddin.
The thanksgiving prayer was read by
Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj AwgAbdul
Aziz, the State Mufti.
The-Isyak prayer was led by Pehin
Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia UstazAwg Hj Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.
Before leaving, His Majesty
consented to receive greetings from worshippers.
The 21st National Day celebrations
will be held today at the Taman Hj Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien with
the theme "Together in Strengthening National Self Reliance". --
