Chung Hua holds Lion Dance show to
mark ‘Chap Goh Mei'

Lion Dance troupe visiting every
classroom at Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait to mark "Chap Goh
Mei".
Students at Chung Hua Middle School,
Kuala Belait were delighted to be entertained by the Lion Dance troupe
that visited all classes yesterday.
The Chinese New Year celebrations
comes to an end with a big feast with family members and is referred
to as "Chap Goh Mei" which falls today, February 23.
To mark the end of the festivities,
Lion or Dragon Dance troupes are invited to houses to perform.
The students had the opportunity to
present "ang pows" to the lions to signify harmony and prosperity all
year round.
The Chinese community believes that
the Lion Dance symbolises determination, strength and courage in
pursuing success regardless of the obstacles.
Members of the Lion Dance troupe,
which comprise students from the school must possess mental and
physical strength to be able to put up a good show.
