Over 2,000 small flags distributed in KB, Seria

Kuala Belait - Over 2,000 small flags were distributed yesterday in Kuala Belait and Seria for the celebration of Brunei Darussalam's 21st National Day on Feb 23.

Jalan Pretty Kuala Belait, Silver Jubilee Park, Jalan Jambatan TOL Rasau, Sepakat fuel station, Lumut fuel station and Jalan Panglima fuel station were among the areas where the flags, which are to be placed on cars, were distributed.

Before the flag distribution activity began, a flag handing-over ceremony was held with Bandar Seri Begawan National Day Celebrations Marketing Committee members presenting the small national flags to Acting Director of Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board, Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Mohd.

The marketing committee was represented by Dato Paduka Chua Peng Siong, Awang Haji Ahmad Morshidi bin Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Abdul Rahman, Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Hai,i Abas and Pengiran Haji Othman bin Pengiran Anak Hashim.

The flag distribution activity started at Jalan Pretty Kuala Belait where the Acting Director of Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board and members the Brunei Darussalam National Day Celebrations Marketing Committee distributed the small flags to motorists.

Meanwhile, the Special Administrative Duties Officer from the Belait District Office together with penghulus and heads of villages in the district also distributed flags in various locations in the Belait area.

Members of the public are encouraged to erect the national flag outside their homes to mark the National Day celebrations. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
