PhD Studentships By Queen's

Begawan - The New Studentships Programme for Developing Nations
of Queen's University Belfast is offering 10 International PhD
Studentships.
The required minimum academic
qualification that governs eligibility for the studentship is a 2:1
honours degree or a qualification considered equivalent by the
university, such as 2:2 honours degree plus a Master's Degree at 60
per cent or above and the qualifications must be obtained no later
than August 1, 2005.
The studentships are created for
exceptional students from developing nations who wish to read for a
doctorate in the social sciences, tenable from September 2005 to
August 2008 in the following schools, namely, Politics & International
Studies, Law, Sociology & Social Policy, Graduate School of Education,
Social Work and Management & Economics.
Candidates whose first language is
not English will be required to provide documentary evidence of their
competence in English.
The university accepts a range of
qualifications such as the British Council IELTS Test, TOEFL or the
Warwick University English Language Test (WELTS).
The studentships last for three years
where fees will be paid and there will be an annual stipend of 12,000
pounds for 2005/06 paid in monthly installments.
The number of studentships will be
limited and each school within the faculty of Legal, Social and
Educational Sciences will rank applicants using agreed criteria.
The successful applicants will be
notified of the outcome in August 2005 and they will be asked to
confirm in writing of their acceptance of the studentship and its
conditions by a specified date which is normally ten days from the
date of the letter of offer. --
