BSP-Employees Receive Long-Service
Away

Begawan - Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) on
Saturday presented longservice awards to 207 employees at the MD's
Emblem Dinner, Empire Hotel and Country Club.
The event was held as attribute to
longserving employees for their dedication and loyalty to the company
over the years.
Present as the guest of honour was
Deputy Minister of Finance Pehin Dato PadukaAwangHaji Abdul Rahman bin
Haji Ibrahim, who is also a member of BSP's Board of Directors.
The event began with a speech from
Managing Director of BSP and Brunei Shell_ Tankers (BST), Mr Mark Came
who said 2004 was a year of great successes and challenges to the
company.
Among the highlights of last year, Mr
Carne said, were the 75th anniversary celebration of the oil and gas
development in Brunei and the discovery of oil in the Seria North
Flan, a previously untouched part of the mature oil field.
He added that a number of Tecords
were set by BSP in terms of exploration and production, including
drilling of the longest snake-well during the Champion West project
and the drilling of world recordbreaking fishhook well in Seria.
Mr
Carne also highlighted the promotion of three locals to high-level
managerial posts as part of the company's commitment to appointing
more Bruneians to key leadership positions.
The highlight of the evening was the
presentation of long-service emblems to recipients by the guest of
honour Mr Carne and Deputy Managing Director of BSP Awang Haji Zainal
Abidin bin Haji Mohd Ali were among the recipients. They have served
the company for 20 and 25 years respectively. --
