Ministry & Departments Join
Cleaning Campaign, Bridge Construction Work

Begawan - The Acting Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato
Paduka Awg Hj Adanan yesterday took part as guest of honour in a
cleaning campaign and construction of a wooden bridge linking the
residents of Kampong Pintu Malim/Sungai Lampai to the Pintu Malim
Mosque area.
Around 500 personnel from the Fire
Services Department, Brunei-Muara District Office, Municipal Board and
Prisons Department participated in the cleaning campaign and the
construction of the wooden bridge. The activity was organised by the
Village Consultative Council of Kg Pintu Malim/Sungai Lampai.
Also present to participate in the
early morning activities were Dato Paduka Hj Adrian bin Hj Hanafiah,
the Brunei Muara District Officer, Hj Jamain bin Momin, Assistant
Brunei-Muara District Officer, Hj Johari bin Jaludin, Acting Director
of Fire Services, Awg Hj Saji bin Hj Mudin, Chairman of the Municipal
bard and Awg Hj Damit bin Hj Laidin, Village Head of Kg Kota Batu.
Aside from cleaning up the area
surrounding Pintu Malim Mosque, the Fire Services Department personnel
which made up the largest contingent of 300 also demolished several
abandoned houses nearby the mosque that were rendered unsafe.
The 203-metre-long wooden bridge will
be used by the residents of Kg Pintu Malim as a route to go to the
mosque and the nearby Pintu Malim Primary School.
Building material for the bridge had
been obtained under the budget of the Ministry of Home affairs. --
