Indonesian Woman Jailed For Fake Passes On Passport
By Rol Ezam & Malai FadleyRizal

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 28-year-old Indonesian woman will be spending the next four months behind bars after failing to pay a $4,000 fine imposed on her by the Tutong Magistrate's Court yesterday for having forged passes on her passport.

Yati Dakup, who is married with one child, had four forged passes on her passport, an offence under section 55(1) (1) of the Immigration Act Cap 17.

Immigration Prosecutor Reduan bin Hj Adrian said that the defendant was on her way back to Miri on Jan 24 this year when officers at Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post found bogus passes on her passport; which were not recorded in the departments computer system. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
