A PR And Two Locals Nabbed Over Aluminium Thefts

Bandar Seri Begawan – A permanent resident and two locals were detained after police personnel from the Berakas Police Station recovered some 352 kilogrammes of stolen aluminium metals yesterday

The arrest of the trio was among the latest in the thefts of government and public properties, which were earlier reported to be on the rise.

The three were suspected to be involved in the metal theft of the recovered aluminium metals compressed into 17 pieces.

The stolen items were successfully detected and recovered by the police personnel from the Berakas Police Station.

The case is still under investigation.

Companies or factories processing scrapped metal are advised and urged to cooperate with the police in this case.

Any recycling companies and factories, which fail to adhere to government guidelines, are liable to action by the court.

Meanwhile, Members of the public are urged to give their cooperation by reporting to the police any suspicious activities, especially those relating to government and public assets. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
