Baiduri Sponsors Therapists To
Autism Workshop
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Baiduri Bank sponsored therapists from the Child
Development Centre and the Society for the Management of
Autism-Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (Smarter)
to participate in an autism workshop in Singapore.
The sponsorship is in line with the
bank’s continuing effort to support local charitable organizations.
The two-day workshop on "Teaching
Social Thinking and Social Skills to Children with Autism Spectrum
Disorders at Home and at School" will be held from February 15-16,
according to a press release.
This workshop provided an opportunity
for participants to develop insights and educational information into
the minds of autistic children and equipped them with knowledge and
skills.
These new acquired skills will be
shared with other therapists, parents and siblings of these special
children as well as staff and volunteers of Pusat Ehsan, KACA, Special
Education Unit and other community groups.
Yesterday, a presentation of donation
was held by Baiduri Bank at its head office in Kiarong Complex where
Philippe Petitier, Senior Deputy General Manager of the bank,
presented mock cheques to Rose Lim of the Child Development Centre,
who accepted it in behalf of Malai Haji Abdullah, and President of
Smarter.
This sponsorship is one of the bank's
ongoing initiatives to fulfill its corporate social responsibility
towards the local community.
Baiduri
Bank is committed to supporting children with special needs by working
closely with the Child Development Centre, Smarter, Pusat Ehsan and
other non-profit organisations. --
