Brunei Ready For 21st National Day
Celebration

Begawan - Members of the public are welcome to enjoy the
upcoming National Day main celebration that is set to unfold at Taman
Haji Sir OmarAli Saifuddien on Wednesday morning.
A covered stand that can accommodate
some 1,000 people is currently being constructed by the Sinarubai
Mechanical Section, Public Works Department, Ministry of Development.
Led by Chief Technical Assistant Hj
Amiruddin bin Hj Mohd Sum, works on the covered stand began on
December 27.
"However, the project was delayed for
two weeks as we waited for the new stock of steel to arrive.
"We expect to complete the stand in a
day or two," said Hj Amiruddin.
According to Hj Amiruddin, a total of
19 Sinarubai Mechanical Section staff is involved in the construction.
He added that with the covered stand,
members of the public can enjoy the 21st National Day celebration in
comfort compared to previous years.
The National Day celebration will see
the participation of some 20,000 people, including 8,000 students,
government uniformed personnel, non-governmental associations, youths,
and private sector personnel.
This year's National Day carries the
theme 'Bersepadu Memperkasa Mandiri Bangsa' or `Together We Strengthen
National Self-Reliance.'
Meanwhile, all the main mosques here
are set to organise religious activities that include mass Maghrib
prayers, thanksgiving prayers, and surah yassin recitals on February
22.

Brunei-Muara District are the Omar'
Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Bandar Seri Begawan; Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah
Mosque, Kiarong; Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque, Kg Jerudong;
Setia Ali Mosque, Muara Town; Sharif Ali Mosque, Sengkurong; Al-Muhtadee
Billah Mosque, Sungai Kebun; Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque, Serusop; and
Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque in Lambak.
Meanwhile, those in the Belait
District include Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait; Pekan
Seria Mosque, Seria; and Perpindahan Kampong Pandan Mosque in Kuala
Belait.
In the Tutong District, it will be
organised by the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong Town while Masjid
Utama Mohd Salleh, Bangar Town, will be the participating mosque in
the Temburong District. --
