Housing Assistance For New Converts

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Islamic Dakwah Centre has allocated a substantial amount of money to provide assistance and facilities for new converts in its efforts to assist them in finding proper and clean shelters to perform their religious obligation.

This was stated by Pehin Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Awg Mohd Zain, the Minister of Religious Affairs, when presenting house keys to new converts, as part of the Centre's housing assistance scheme.

The presentation was held in conjunction with a conversion ceremony for an Iban family yesterday at the Propagation Centre in Kg Selapon, Temburong.

The Minister said he hoped such contribution would help the new converts strengthen their religious knowledge and Islamic faith as well as to avoid deviational teachings.

However, he reminded them not to just `sit and wait' for the contributions but to be proactive and independent in their quest to upgrade the quality of their life as a Muslim.

The two recipients who received housing assistance from the Islamic Dakwah Centre was Hj Faizan bin Metussin and Dyg Nordian bte Abdullah.

Meanwhile, seven Ibans embraced Islam yesterday. MunanAnak Jungan is now known as Muhammad Azman bin Abdullah Jingan while Minah Anak Jingga is now called Aminah bte Abdullah Jingaa.

Their children, Christina Anak Munan is now known as Nur Fatinah bte MuhammadAzman while Rosita Cuyut Abak Munan is now Nur Razita bte Muhammad Azman. Augustine Apau Anak Munan is now Muhammad Azri bin Muhammad Azmanwhile Andy KanyanAnak Munan is now Aswandy bin Muhammad Azman.

Their relative, Melaya Anak Rangga is now Nur Sakinah bte Abdullah Rangga.

A total of 55 new converts already occupy new houses provided under the Centre's housing assistance. Pehin Date Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Awg Mohd Zain also toured the new houses in Kg Selapon and Kg Parit.
