St James' Students Perform Green Lion Dance

Bandar Seri Begawan - The multi-racial Lion Dance troupe comprising of Form Five students of St James' School recently performed a Green Lion Dance show during the assembly.

The performance, which lasted for more than 20 minutes, started with the lighting of firecrackers.

The Green Lion Dance, which incorporates Chinese martial art moves, is a symbol of harmony and prosperity. The fierce-looking lion costume has large eyes and protruding fangs.

Meanwhile, there was also a Kung Fu demonstration led by Mr Liew Shin Min, Senior Master, who also choreographed the Green Lion Dance. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
