20,000 Join In National Day Field Presentation

Bandar Seri Begawan - More than 20,000 participants will form various components of the field display in conjunction with this year's National Day.

The displays are based on the theme "Together We Strengthened National Self-Reliance" and will involve uniformed government agencies, voluntary organisations and students.

Awang Hj Sumadi bin Sukaimi, the Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau and director for the field display, explained the concept of the display.

He said that the display consists of three segments symbolising self-reliance pillar, the future generation and flora.

The first segment will be staged by personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Fire Brigades and secondary students.

They will form the self-reliance pillar symbolising that Bruneians are diligent, hard working and united, which are the bases for progress and development.

The second display, he said, will be performed by youth groups as the country's future generations who will continue the country's efforts towards excellence.

They are also the one whose cooperation is needed in the development of the nation.

Awang Hj Sumadi added that the performance by students, who will form a flora-like formation, will symbolise the pure aspiration of the country brought about by the National Development Program.
