Belait Slates Youth Debate Contest On Feb 26

Kuala Belait - The Youth and Sports Department in Belait for the first time will organise a Youth Debate Competition to mark Brunei’s 21st National Day celebrations.

It is expected to be held on Saturday, February 26, at Dewan Bandaran from 7.30pm.

The contest will be opened for three categories; Category A for those aged 26 and above, B for 16 to 25 years old and C for 12 to 15 years of age.

Enrolment is open to youth associations, uniformed youths, welfare bodies, colleges, vocational schools, government and private secondary schools as well as the Kampong and Mukim Consultative Councils in the district.

Category A will be for adults from government departments, private companies and Kampong Consultative bodies and individuals.

The programme aims to give youths the opportunities and exposure to express their comments on certain current issues and also increase their sense of patriotism and spirit in understanding the theme of this year's National Day, 'Bersepadu Memperkasa Mandiri Negara.' -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
