Dhabi

Bandar Seri
Begawan - Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd has once again put
Brunei on the world map. This time, it is by participating in the
recent four-day 3rd Environment Exhibition and Conference in Abu
Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates.
"Sheikh Mansour Zayed Al Nahyan,
Minister of Presidential Affairs, formally opened the event
participated by 338 exhibitors from 41 countries," reported Megamas
yesterday.
It was held under the patronage of
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President.
Megamas
described it as the most important exhibition and conference on
environment in the entire Middle East, North Africa as well as the
sub-continent and built effectively on the success of its two
previous editions in 2001 and 2003.
"It provides the ideal platform for
exhibitors to exchange experiences and information as well as to
exhibit related best practices of the public and private sectors,"
stated the company in a press statement.
The UAE considers environmental
protection and development a cornerstone of its development policy.
Tills exhibition and conference was
a reflection of its keenness to participate actively in the
international efforts of finding sustainable solutions to
environmental issues.
There were official pavilions on
France, Germany, the Netherlands, UK, US, India, Iran and Brunei,
stated the company.
"Megamas was the sole exhibitor
from Brunei and, as such, was proud to be part of international
efforts to achieve sustainable development and forging close
cooperation between the different countries," it added.
Mr Peter Lammiman, Training
Manager, who attended Enviro 2005, said, "I am very impressed by the
quality of the exhibition, exhibitors and range of products that the
UAE is exposed to. Brunei has a lot in common with the UAE in terms
of oil.
It is also nice to be a company
from Southeast Asia bringing technology to the Middle East, whereas
we normally looked to the West for it."
Megamas conduct five environmental
courses, including an Induction to Environmental Management;
Environmental Awareness; Introduction to Environment Management
System Auditing and ISO14,000; Environment Impact Assessments and
