Belait Local Leaders Visit Prisons Department

Kuala Belait - An entourage of Penghulu Mukims, heads of villages, and heads of longhouse in the Belait District made a working visit to the Prisons Department yesterday.

Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof bin Haji Abu Bakar, the Belait District Officer, led the visiting group.

Upon their arrival, they were greeted by Haji Ahmad bin Haji Dullah, the Prisons Director.

The entourage was then given a briefing by the officer on duty. The visit continued with a tour around the prison.

During the visit, the group was also given a canning demonstration.

The visit was aimed at strengthening relationships between the officers and staff of the Prisons Department and the Belait District Department.

Apart from that, the objective of the visit was also to share knowledge and positive exposure regarding the roles and views of the Prisons Department. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
