‘Study At UBD’ Exhibition Opens
Tomorrow
By Sonia K
Bandar Seri
Begawan - UBD will be holding a two-day `Study at UBD'
exhibition at its Chancellor Hall starting tomorrow. This yearly
project hopes to provide more interactive information to those
interested to study at UBD.
The Faculty of Business, Economics
and Policy Studies (FBEPS) will have its booth opened to the public
on both days.
They will be displaying the
different programmes offered by the three different departments of
the faculty - Department of Business and Management, Department of
Public Policy and Administration, and Department of Economics.
In an interview with a lecturer
from the Department of Public Policy and Administration, Dr Robert
A. Bush said students taking the Public Policy course will be able
to acquire an understanding on how governments work.
Some of the interesting issues
students will learn during the course are how to create a
sustainable environment, how to ensure the best health services, how
to reduce death toll in traffic accidents as well as topics on
international treaties and conventions.
According to a press release from
the university, FBEPS offers both undergraduate and postgraduate
courses.
All undergraduate programmes allow
students to take a minor in a variety of disciplinary areas. At the
postgraduate level, FBEPS offers Master of Business Administration,
Master of Public Policy, Master of Economics, Masters in
Environmental Management and Doctoral study.
Interested students will have a
chance to talk to the faculty on application opportunities during
the `Study at UBD' day.
There will also be briefings by the
Dean of FBEPS and heads of departments. Potential applicants will
have the advantage of meeting FBEPS students willing to share their
on campus experience.
During the two-day event, FBEPS
will showcase its services at the exhibition, which are not solely
on teaching/training and learning, but extended to consultancy and
community work. With this in mind, excellence has always been FBEPS'
main objective.
To strengthen this, FBEPS believes
maintaining and developing relationships with the public and private
sectors to be paramount.
To highlight such endeavour FBEPS
has invited HSBC to sponsor parts of FBEPS promotional activities
during the `Study at UBD' day. The generous contribution is an
essential part of HSBC's corporate social responsibility.
