UBD Students At Korea Youth Festival

Bandar Seri Begawan - Ten students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) departed for Seoul, Korea yesterday morning to join other students from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) and Korea in the Korean-Asean Youth Festival.

The event, aimed at strengthening cooperation between Korea and Asean youths, will end on February 25.

Entitled the Asean-Korea Future Oriented Cooperation Project Youth Exchange Programme 2005, UBD students are led by Hj Tassim Hj Abu Bakar, Deputy Dean of Students, and Norainie Ahmad, lecturer.

The project, which is organised by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade Korea and Asean, is coordinated by the National Council of Youth Organisation in Korea.

During their stay in Korea, the students will attend the festival's opening ceremony on Thursday where they will present a cultural exhibition.

Hj Tassim told the Bulletin that the students will be involved in discussion groups and will visit various industrial and cultural facilities. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
