Mass Blood Donation Campaign

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Youth and Sports Department, Brunei/ Muara district branch will carry out a mass blood donation campaign for the 11th time.

The blood donation project will be held on February 24, Thursday, from 8.30am to 12.15 noon and from l .30pm to 4pm, at the Youth Centre in the capital.

The one-day campaign will have a positive impact in inculcating and enhancing public awareness especially among youth and the community alike of their responsibilities to the society, the department said.

The project also coincides with the 21st National Day celebration.

It is aimed at encouraging the youth and the community in getting involved in welfare projects, to give rise to responsible community willing to sacrifice when needed and to assist the blood bank to save lives.

It is open to officers and staff in the government departments, youth associations, welfare bodies, clubs, sports associations, colleges, government and non-government schools, village consultative council members, individuals.

Prior to donating blood, donors must undergo a screening test to ensure they are fit to donate. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
