Deputy Sultan Grants Audiences To Newly Appointed Diplomats

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pg. Muda Hj AlMuhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan, yesterday afternoon received in audience the respective Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand and the People's Republic of China to Brunei.

The audience ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.

His Royal Highness first consented to receive in audience Mr Sornsilp Polteja, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam.

Mr Polteja had earlier presented his credentials to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on February 3, 2005.

HRH later consented to receive in audience Ms Yang Yanyi, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the country.

Ms Yanyi presented her credentials to His Majesty on February 5, 2005. Also present at the audience ceremony was Pehin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Hazair, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
