found to have expired, were detained under the Immigration Act
during a joint operation along Brunei waters yesterday.
Their case is being investigated.
Six government agencies carried out

Fisheries and Forestry mobilised a total of 40 personnel for the
operation, which began early in the morning.
The areas that came under their
scrutiny involved those along the Brunei Bay and several other sea
routes which are currently being used to enter Brunei.
The operation included checking of
passengers and immigration papers.
The operation was intended at
curbing and eradicating smuggling activities such as stolen goods
and drugs as well as labouring illegal immigrants.
The government agencies from time
