Religious Scholars Join Hands To Preserve Islamic Image

Bandar Seri Begawan – Religious scholars attending the third Muzakarah of Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Singapore Religious Ministers (MABIMS) collectively agreed to preserve the image of Islam.

They also discussed internal and economic-related issues such as family obligations in relation to AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution, deviated teachings, internal security, and the role of religious leaders in the development of Life Sciences and Biotechnology.

They also reached a decision to strengthen the principles of Islam and instil proper Islamic values towards building a true Islamic way of life.

Touching on the deviated teachings and internal security, MABIMS decided to make a more effective approach in the rehabilitation process, particularly counselling involving professionals and using clearer and more effective guidelines.

MABIMS scholars also concluded that they should share all energy and resources in dealing with global issues that affect the Islamic image.

They also decided to further develop specialisation in the field of Islamic food and share economic potential and Life Sciences.

Touching on familial obligations in relation to AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution, MABIMS decided to spread the proper teachings of Islam relating to family issues through education, the media and guidance courses, and to provide financial and material aid to families in need. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
