By Mastoris

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Takmir/Muslimah Masjid Kampong Bunut committee members and Majlis Perundingan Kampong Bunut Perpindahan, Kampong Tasek Meradun-Bunut, Kampong Madewa and Telanai-Sungai Ketam organised a charity bazaar for the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund.

Over 20 stalls were set up at the bazaar selling a variety of local and imported products at the spacious area near Pengiran Bendahara Sakam Primary School.

The items available include textiles, women's accessories, floral decorations, household items and bouncers for kids.

The charity event was officially opened yesterday afternoon by Awang Haji Jemat bin Haji Ampal, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The four-day bazaar, opens daily from 8 am to 10.30 pm until February 6, is aimed at collecting donations for the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund to assist the survivors of the deadly tidal waves which struck on Dec 26 last year.

There is a donation box placed at the bazaar for the public members who visit the bazaar to contribute to the relief fund.

Apart from the bazaar sale, several activities including a walkathon and a colouring competition for children were also held to enliven the atmosphere. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
