By Helena M Mahathir
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Institute Technology of Brunei (ITB) yesterday
organised the `Career Dialogue 2005' to assist as well as to
enlighten graduates and school leavers in search of career
opportunities.
After launching the event, Deputy
Permanent Secretary III at the Ministry of Education Haji Ishaaq bin
Haji Abdullah said, "with the trend of an increasing number of job
seekers every year, the Ministry of Education established a Career
Resource Centre in October 2003."
"The year 2004 showed over 1,000
job seekers had registered, comprising graduates from higher
education institutes as well as first degree and FIND holders.
"As of Nov 2004, 337 job seekers
from that figure had secured jobs, which included jobs in the
private sector," he added.
Some 14 organisations from both the
public and private sectors participated in yesterday's career
dialogue at ITB, which was open to ITB students as well as members
of the public. --
