Walkathon Rakes In Over $47,000 For Tsunami Victims

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Association of Banks held a walkathon at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium on Sunday in a bid to raise the figure of the Tsunami Disaster Victims Fund.

The charity event saw the participation of some 500 people comprising the bank's board of directors, executive officers and personnel, most of who were accompanied by family members.

The day commenced with the handing over of donations by Brunei Association of Banks Chairman Haji Mohd Roselan bin Haji Mohd Daud to Tsunami Disaster Victim Fund Secretary cum Director of Social Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Hajah Adina binti Othman. The total contributions peaked $47,530.09.

The event continued with a picture taking session and an aerobic session before the start of the 3.5 kilometre walkathon. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
