Begawan – The Brunei national basketball team will b playing
against Filipino actors in the Filipino All-Stars Invitational
Basketball Challenge 2005 on Saturday at 8.15pm at the Indoor
Stadium in Berakas after the opening Ceremony.
The opening match before the
opening ceremony will see Filipino Selection A take on Filipino
Selection B. Gho Kim Tian, chairman of the Brunei Basketball
Association, confirmed the participation of the Brunei national
cagers, the Philippine Embassy said yesterday.

Bennett Palad, a former player with the Philippine Basketball
Association, will coach the Brunei national team. which represented
the country at the SEA Games.
The 10 Philippine-based actors will
be supported by four players from the Philippine Basketball League
and the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines, said
Mario Porlahe, president of the Philippine Basketball Club in
Brunei.
Two veteran Brunei-based players,
Kaka Espartero and Wally Anuri, will join the all star team. Losing
teams on Saturday will face off at 1pm on Sunday while the winners
will square off at 3pm.
Tickets are available at the Indoor
Stadium before the start of tie games. Tickets cost $10 for regular
seats and S50 for VIP seats. Group buying of tickets starts
Wednesday, Feb 2.
