The Short Message Service or SMS seems to be having a long lasting impact on the populace these days. Not only is it the fastest and cheapest way to communicate but it is also becoming a way to make a fortune, so to say.

The 20th National Day SMS Quiz Contest organised by QQ Station, which promises a grand prize of Hyundai Matrix 1.6 Auto, was launched yesterday at Setia Motors Showroom in Beribi.

Present as guests of honour and to officiate the launch were Haji Abdul Rahim bin Haji Abdul Latif, Managing Director of Setia Motors, and Mr. See Wei Kie, DST Value Added Services Manager.

The ceremony also proceeded with a prize presentation to winners of the previous QQ Station SMS quiz contest and QQ Station SMS Auction.

The contest is the first of its kind to be launched here. It aims to enliven the spirit and celebration of the 20th National Day. Contestants will also benefit through participating in the contest as they will be more knowledgeable about Brunei. Many attractive prizes are up for grabs besides the main attraction of the Hyundai Matrix.

Contestants will stand a chance to win the latest IBM Think Pad R40e, return air tickets for two to Singapore inclusive of three days and two nights, five star hotel accommodation, Alfa 34" television set, Nokia 6600, Ciatronic Full Home Theatre System, Casio Exilim S2 digital camera, Samsung DXD-E218 DVD player, Nokia 3315, HP Deskjest 3535 Colour Photo Printer and cash vouchers worth up to $50, sponsored by Century Travel, Gripps Café and Casamia Café.

The 20th National Day SMS Quiz Contest will run from February 27 until April 23. It will be divided into three rounds before proceeding into the grand round where the Hyundai Matrix 1.6 Auto is at stake. The first round will be held from February 27 until Mar 12, second round will be from March 13 until March 26 and the third round will be held from March 27 until April 9. The much anticipated and highlight of the contest, the Grand Round will run from February 27 until the midnight of April 23.
