Brunei Sultan’s Leadership Exhibition In March At ICC

Bandar Seri Begawan – An exhibition on the Leadership of His Majesty is to be held at the International Convention Centre, from today to March 3.

There are over 100 artefacts on display, consisting of various Islamic items and manuscripts from His Majesty Sultan of Brunei’s private collection.

Also on display are astronomy instruments used over 400 years ago, a gold and silver replica of the Kaabah door, and a piece of gold-weaved silk cloth believed to have covered the Kaabah.

There are also various ceramics, weaponry and ornaments dating back to 15th century.

Exhibits from various government departments to illustrate and highlight the country's developments in religion, industry, education, infrastructure, healthcare and security will also be on display.

The exhibition is being held in conjunction with the 20th Independence Day celebrations and is open to the public from 9am to 9pm each day.

Meanwhile, the Exhibition on the Leadership of His Majesty Sultan of Brunei received encouraging response from various private sectors and individuals in the country.

The Exhibition Steering Committee this afternoon received donations from some 50 companies including banks, supermarkets and hotels in the country.

Dato Awang Haji Dani, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, who is also Co-Chairman of the Steering Committee, received the donations in cheques and in kind.

It is hoped that the exhibition will further strengthen the peoples love and loyalty the ruler who has been working hard towards the development and prosperity of the nation especially during the 20 years Brunei Darussalam gained its independence, commented Radio Television Brunei. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
