MTSSR students get hands-on
business training

The second-year students of the
National Diploma Programme of the Business and Management Department
at Sultan Saiful Rizal Technical College (MTSSR) had successfully made
a break-through in the development of their business project which was
launched in January this year.
In an interview with the Bulletin,
one of the students involved said the business project has achieved a
big improvement in the 5th week of its development.
The students had to theoretically
applied their first-year studies into a more practical aspect as they
set up stalls to sell various products and provide services based on
their individual themes. Products sold include food items and mobile
phone ring tones as well as cosmetic products for the ladies.
Their business projects will be
assessed on five aspects, namely developing personal performance,
working with others, communication, managing task and numeracy, design
and IT skills.
The stalls are open on every
Wednesday between 9 am to 4.30 pm at the parking lot of the Business
and Management Department of Sultan Saiful Rizal Technical College in
Gadong.
The students also encouraged outside
businesses that are interested in selling their products to take part
in their projects. Issues relating to development, infrastructure and
basic amenities such as road, water, telephone, education, land,
religion, health, citizenship are among the matters expected to be
touched in a dialogue session between various government agencies and
residents of Mukim Bukok in the Temburong district.
It is jointly organised by the
Information Department and Mukim Bukok Consultative Council. It will
be held this Saturday (February 14) at 8 am at the Community Hall of
Kg Rataie National Housing Scheme.
The session that carries the theme
'Leaders Visiting Mukim' among others aims as a means to interact
bilaterally between the government agencies and residents living in
the Mukim as well as to facilitate grievances and problems from
grassroots level.
During the session, the residents
will have an opportunity to hear explanations and information raised
during the question and answer sessions.
Dato Paduka Hj Hazair, Permanent
Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office will be the chief guest. It
will also be attended by permanent secretaries, senior government
officers from various government agencies.
