Bandar Seri
Begawan – Attempts by four foreign nationals to smuggle liquor
into the country were foiled yesterday morning by officials of the
Bandar Seri Begawan Customs Preventive Unit.
The offenders were caught separately
at two different locations.
The success of the seizure of the
alcoholic drinks was attributed to information provided by the public.
The first two offenders were caught
at Kuala Lurah.
They were found to have in their
possession some 1,200 cans of Tiger beer and 70 bottles of two types
of wine secretly stashed inside the car's doors and boot.

Kuala Lurah roundabout.
The other two offenders were caught
in a house at Kampong Kiarong.
They were found to have with them 48
cans of Tiger beer and 49 bottles of Mekong wine that were also hidden
in the inner linings of their car.
All the four men are being detained
by the Customs Preventive Unit for further investigation.
