Trio Deny Stealing Electric Cables

Bandar Seri Begawan - Three local men pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday to a charge of stealing electric cables and to a charge of committing mischief by causing damage.

Ibrahim Tassan, 31, Ak Saizam Pg Anak Said, 22, and Hush Tassan, 33, denied stealing the cables from the Electrical Substation, Simpang 339 in Jalan Subok on November 23 last year.

They also denied committing mischief by causing more than $25 damage to the cables.

Ibrahim and Ak Saizam, who is facing another charge of stealing electrical cables from the Electrical Sub-station in Setia Kenangan Complex, Kiulap on January 23 this year also pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Meanwhile, Ak Saizam also did not admit to a charge of causing damage of more than $25 to the cables.

The prosecution would be producing 10 witnesses during the trial on April 13, 14, 15, 17, 19 and 20 this year. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
