His Majesty’s Birthday To Take Place At Jerudong Park

Bandar Seri Begawan – The 58th anniversary of His Majesty Sultan of Brunei birthday celebration for the Brunei-Muara District this year will take place at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre.

The highlight of the event is the get-together, ceremony between His Majesty and the rakyat and residents in the district.

This was disclosed by the Brunei-Muara District Officer, Dato Awang Haji Harun in his capacity as the chairman of the committee at the first meeting of the executive committee of His Majesty’s birthday celebration for the Brunei-Muara District.

The Brunei Muara District Officer said, the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre has been selected as, the venue for this year's celebration solely to take into account the past experience and problems faced during the event. Such problems include in terms of preparations for exhibition and performance, as well as facilities and parking areas.

The meeting was also a post mortem session of last year's 57th anniversary royal birthday in Brunei-Muara District and discussed on the working papers proposed by chairmen and members of the executive committee.

Last year’s the celebration was held at the Business, Sport and Recreation Complex, Menjalin in Mukim Sungai Kebun.

21 events were arranged in last year's celebrations that include, various sports activities, religious activities and cultural performances in the district.

The performance and exhibition for last year featured on the modern civilization achieved by the district such as its development, progress and the effectiveness of the current era of Info Communication Technology (ICT). -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
